CSV Formatting Guide
The Smart spreadsheet importer is designed to save you time by uploading your entire software stack at once. To ensure the system correctly identifies your data, your CSV file must follow a specific structure.
Last updated on
1. Required Column Headers
Subsight looks for specific headers to categorize your subscriptions. Ensure your CSV contains these exact columns:
Tool Name: The name of the software or service (e.g., "Slack" or "Adobe").
Price: The numerical cost of the subscription.
Renewal Date: The date of the next scheduled charge.
Billing Cycle: Specify if the tool is "Monthly" or "Yearly" to ensure accurate dashboard projections.
2. Formatting Your Data
To avoid import errors, please follow these formatting rules:
Date Format: Use the date format currently selected in your Workspace localization settings (e.g., MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY).
Currency: Enter prices as numbers only. Do not include currency symbols ($ or £) within the cells, as the system will apply your Default currency automatically.
No Empty Rows: Ensure there are no completely blank rows between your entries, as this can cause the importer to stop processing the file prematurely.
3. Plan Limits
Before uploading, check that your file size aligns with your current plan:
Pro Plan: Supports imports of up to 20 subscriptions.
Business Plan: Supports unlimited subscription imports.
Trial Users: You can test the spreadsheet importer during your 7-day free trial.
4. Verification
Once the upload is complete, you will see a summary of the imported tools. We recommend visiting the Calendar or Dashboard to verify that all renewal dates and costs have been mapped correctly.
